This bag pin is hand-carved from a single piece of seasoned lime wood and hand painted with water-based wood dyes* and white milk paint**. It is a unique item and so far the first of its kind. The wood is sealed with Rustins Danish oil*** and beeswax**** for water resistance. This also gives the colours a vibrant lustre and the wood a silky tactility. The back of the piece is fitted with a base metal brooch pin and rotating safety catch measuring 5cm/2 inches long.

My pieces are unique craft items and cannot be mass produced. Sometimes subtle chisel marks will be present on the carvings - these are the marks of the artist and they make each piece truly individual! 

All of my carved pieces come packaged in a cardboard presentation box with a free A6 postcard..

ALLERGEN ADVICE
*I use Bolgers Water Based Wood Stains, which are environmentally friendly, non-toxic, odourless and VOC free.

**Milk paint is made from casein (a protein found in milk) and lime. It is non-toxic, VOC-free & biodegradable. However, as it is a milk product, it may be unsuitable for severe dairy allergy sufferers.

***Rustins Danish oil is not VOC free, though I only use it in very small quantities! It conforms to The Articles in Contact with Food Regulations and to the Toys (Safety) Regulations 1995, BS:EN71 Part 3. However, please note that Danish Oil contains tung oil which is extracted from nuts, and may therefore be unsuitable for severe nut allergy sufferers.

****My beeswax polish contains beeswax, carnauba wax and turpentine residue. These waxes are common ingredients in lip balms. In very rare cases they can cause skin irritations.
